Guangzhou: Typhoon Tapah has made landfall in China's Guangdong Province, leading to widespread evacuations, school closures, and the suspension of various transportation services. The typhoon, identified as the 16th of the year, is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the Pearl River Delta and western Guangdong. According to Oman News Agency, China's National Meteorological Center reported that Tapah is set to make landfall between Jiangmen and Maoming, areas bracing for severe weather conditions through Tuesday. This prompted authorities to raise typhoon warnings and implement precautionary measures, including closing schools in affected cities. Railway services on the Shenzhen-Zhanjiang and Guangzhou-Maoming lines have been suspended as part of safety protocols. China's national observatory renewed a yellow alert for Typhoon Tapah, signifying the third-highest level in the country's four-tier weather warning system. Concurrently, the Ministry of Water Resources activated a Level-IV emergency flood control response in the regions of Guangdong and the neighboring Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, indicating heightened readiness to manage potential flooding scenarios.
