Oman Engages in GCC Tax Administrations Meeting to Enhance Regional Cooperation

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 15th meeting of the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Administrations in the GCC, which was held in Kuwait. The Omani delegation was headed by Nasser Khamis Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority.

According to Oman News Agency, this meeting was part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Tax Authorities and administrations, and to improve the efficiency of tax systems in the GCC. The meeting also aimed at unifying tax policies and procedures to align with global economic developments and to support the path of Gulf economic integration.

During the meeting, the heads and directors discussed mechanisms for exchanging information and expertise to combat tax evasion and avoid double taxation among the member states. These discussions are intended to help build a Gulf tax system characterized by fairness and transparency.

Al Jashmi emphasized the importance of the meeting in strengthening joint Gulf cooperation and coordinating positions to address global tax challenges. He noted the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving the shared economic goals of the GCC countries.
