Al batinah: The Omani-Saudi joint naval drill "Winds of Peace 2026" commenced today, featuring several vessels from the Royal Navy of Oman's fleet in the Al Batinah maritime region. The exercise involves participation from crews of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and receives support from the Royal Army of Oman and the Royal Air Force of Oman.
According to Oman News Agency, the exercise will include a wide range of training programs and practical applications. These activities involve executing various naval operations, formations, maneuvers, and specialized exercises. Additionally, the exercise will facilitate the exchange of expertise among the participating ship crews as per the planned agenda.
The joint exercise is part of the annual training plans of the Royal Navy of Oman and is integrated into the joint exercise plans with the navies of sisterly and friendly countries. Its primary aim is to maintain the operational readiness levels of the Royal Navy of Oman's fleet and personnel across different naval specializations, ensuring they are prepared for the national tasks assigned to them.
