Clear Identity to be Set for Oman National Team, New Head Coach Affirms

Oman: Oman Football Association held a press conference today to introduce the newly appointed head coach of the Oman national football team, Moroccan Tarik Sektioui, whose signing was announced for a four-year term. According to Oman News Agency, Sektioui stated that he will work during the upcoming phase to establish a clear identity for the team and to build a competitive squad capable of delivering results. He noted that the development of Omani football requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders to achieve the desired objectives. He explained that this stage holds great significance for him, and he will endeavor to raise the level of Omani football by focusing on the physical conditioning and technical development of the players, as well as achieving tactical balance between defense and attack. This, he noted, would contribute to establishing a distinct tactical identity for the team, alongside improving positional awareness and movement on the pitch. He further elaborated that the upcoming p hase will witness a strong emphasis on youth development with the aim of preparing players capable of competently transitioning to the senior national team. This is particularly important given the high average age of certain players, a situation that necessitates a gradual generational renewal and the integration of emerging talent. He emphasized that he is undertaking this role with full conviction, viewing it as a challenge through which he aspires to compete for titles. He stressed the importance of working within a clear strategic framework grounded in discipline and accountability in order to elevate Omani football.
