South al batinah: The activities of the fourth edition of the National Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Week commenced today at the General Directorate of Education in South Al Batinah Governorate. Held under the theme 'Our Sciences Renewed,' the event will continue until April 9.
According to Oman News Agency, the National STEM Week features a wide range of purposeful scientific activities across various wilayats of the governorate with the participation of schools. These activities cover fields such as energy resources, natural resources and wealth, environmental sustainability, urban planning, future technologies, environmental sciences, biodiversity, food science, agricultural technologies, industry, modern technologies, climate change, space, aviation sciences, education, digital transformation, health sciences, and medical technologies.
The event aims to raise awareness of STEM fields, enhance student interest in learning science as well as engineering and technological skills, and keep pace with global trends in the dissemination of knowledge and technology. Furthermore, it seeks to simplify STEM concepts, promote scientific culture across all segments of society, and instill skills in scientific and methodical thinking and problem-solving among students.
