Dollar Rises 0.1% as Fed Holds Rates

Muscat: The US dollar found its footing in Asian trading today after the Federal Reserve kept its policy interest rate on hold, with Chair Kevin Warsh leaving markets uncertain about resolving divisions within its rate-setting committee.

According to Oman News Agency, the dollar index, which measures the greenback's strength against six currencies, increased by 0.1% to 100.93. The British pound weakened by 0.2% to $1.3347 ahead of a Bank of England interest rate decision. Meanwhile, the euro decreased by 0.1% to $1.1453. The Australian dollar remained steady at $0.6953, whereas the New Zealand dollar gained 0.2% to $0.5809. The yen was unchanged at 163.465 per US dollar.
