Gold Rises $4080.38 Per Ounce

Muscat: Gold prices edged higher today, as markets assessed comments from US Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh on tackling inflation after the central bank left interest rates unchanged at its latest policy meeting.

According to Oman News Agency, spot gold was up 0.4% at $4,080.38 per ounce. US gold futures for August delivery gained 1.1% to $4,078. Spot silver gained 1% to $58.20 per ounce, platinum inched 0.3% higher to $1,616.84, and palladium rose 1.9% to $1,270.50.
