Muscat: Spanish clubs Real Madrid and English Premier League side Fulham have announced the transfer of Spanish forward Gonzalo Garca to Fulham on a contract running until 2031, with an option for a one-year extension.
According to Oman News Agency, the move for the 22-year-old Garca comes on the heels of the most prolific season of his professional career with Real Madrid, during which he netted eight goals-six of them in La Liga-most notably a hat-trick against Real Betis this past January.
Spanish media reports indicate that the transfer fee is valued at approximately £40 million, with Real Madrid retaining 30 percent of the player's economic rights.
Fulham are managed this season by Spaniard lvaro Arbeloa, the former Real Madrid youth team coach who oversaw Garca's development during his formative years at the club's academy.
Additionally, Fulham have announced the signing of young Spanish attacking midfielder C©sar Palacios, aged 21, also from Real Madrid-a player whom Arbeloa granted his La Liga debut in recent months.
