Al buraimi: The value of real estate trading in Al Buraimi Governorate during the first half of 2026 reached approximately RO 16,773,055, compared to RO 18,460,444 during the same period in 2025, marking a decline of about 9%, according to data issued by the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in Al Buraimi Governorate.
According to Oman News Agency, the data showed that the traded value of sale contracts up to the end of June this year amounted to RO 6,527,444, compared to RO 8,914,667 during the same period last year. The number of sale contracts decreased by 26%.
The traded value of mortgage contracts recorded an increase of 11.7%, reaching RO 10,213,211 by the end of the first half of this year, compared to RO 9,141,678 during the same period in 2025. The traded value of swap contracts rose by 41.7% to RO 32,400 by the end of June 2026, compared to RO 22,860 during the same period last year.
The Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in Al Buraimi Governorate continues its efforts in the investment sector by enhancing the utilization of government land and supporting projects related to food security, in partnership with the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in the governorate. The number of investment sites offered during the first half of this year reached approximately 44 sites.
In the real estate development sector, Al Buraimi Governorate is witnessing the implementation of Al Salam Neighborhood project, which is one of the integrated residential communities under the "Surooh" initiative. The project comprises 580 housing units, with the completion rate for the first phase reaching 31%. It aims to create urban developments where housing is complemented by facilities, services, and public spaces.
Sulaiman Ali Al Qarni, Director General of Housing and Urban Planning in Al Buraimi Governorate, stated that housing assistance provided to eligible families varies between home construction or purchase. By the end of June this year, the review and approval of 120 housing assistance applications had been completed, with procedures for financial commitment being finalized for the coming period. He affirmed that the Directorate is working to increase response rates to beneficiaries' requests and improve service quality by activating programs and initiatives to diversify housing options available to eligible individuals.
