Muscat: Omani female contestant Maytham Ahmed Al Habsi has achieved fourth place in the branch of memorising fifteen parts (Juz'), within the 46th session of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, held at the Holy Mosque in Makkah Al Mukarramah. This marks the first female participation in the history of the competition. According to Oman News Agency, a number of memorisers of the Holy Quran from various Arab and Islamic countries participated in the competition, which is regarded as one of the most prominent Quranic competitions in the region and the Islamic world.
