Bahrain: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, took part in the 23rd meeting of the Heads of Financial and Accounting Audit Institutions and Bureaus in the GCC, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Sheikh Ghuson Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, led Oman's delegation at the event.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on several key agenda items, including the topics for the seventh edition of the GCC Research and Studies Competition in Audit and Accounting. Attendees also reviewed a report on the outcomes of the study of recommendations from the winning research papers of the competition's sixth edition.
The meeting also featured discussions on informational items, such as the Secretariat General's report on training programs scheduled for 2025 and 2026. Additionally, the meeting highlighted events planned by financial and accounting audit institutions in the GCC states during the Gulf Financial and Accounting Audit Week.
This gathering is part of ongoing efforts to enhance joint Gulf cooperation to strengthen transparency, accountability, and the protection of public funds. It aims to develop audit mechanisms and encourage the exchange of expertise and experiences among financial and accounting audit institutions within the GCC states.
