Salalah:The "Dhofar Health Planning Forum," organized by the Ministry of Health through the Directorate General of Health Services in Dhofar Governorate, commenced at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah.
According to Oman News Agency, the forum's opening was officiated by Sheikh Salim Mustahail Al Maashani, Advisor at the Diwan of Royal Court. Dr. Hani Ahmed Al Qadhi, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services in Dhofar Governorate, highlighted the significance of strategic planning in elevating health services to align with "Oman Vision 2040." The forum's theme, "From Knowledge to Impact," emphasizes the conversion of planning visions into practical solutions to improve healthcare quality across Dhofar Governorate.
The forum aims to empower healthcare professionals with the skills to forecast future needs and measure institutional impacts, ensuring effective resource management and response to sector challenges. Two strategic memorandums of understanding were signed to bolster academic and technical partnerships: one between Dhofar Health Services and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah, and the other between the Ministry of Health and "Ibn Firnas" Drone Center. Additionally, an exhibition was opened, and a panel discussion on "A Sustainable Health Future" was launched.
The event includes screenings of a documentary on health planning in the governorate and presentations on health transformation lessons and national health survey indicators. Forum sessions will explore themes like "Governance and Leadership" and "Health System Readiness," with discussions on health clusters in Oman and Saudi Arabia, empowerment policies, and digital innovations such as "Dawa'i," "Qatrah," and "Wisal" platforms.
Interactive panel discussions will involve officials and experts focusing on planning, innovation, quality management, and patient care, showcasing successful practices in health service development. The scientific program features 25 working papers within five panel discussions and reviews 16 innovative projects, with awareness and advisory sections promoting sustainable healthcare concepts.
