Gold Prices Remain Stable Amid Interest Rate Concerns

Muscat:Spot gold remained stable today, though it stayed near a more than seven-week low due to concerns that the Federal Reserve might maintain higher interest rates for an extended period. Investors are also anticipating a series of upcoming US economic data releases.

According to Oman News Agency, spot gold was largely unchanged at $4,124.57 per ounce, following a decline to its lowest level since August 5 in the previous session. Meanwhile, US gold futures experienced a 0.3% decrease, settling at $4,156.70.

In related developments, other metals saw declines. Spot silver decreased by 0.6% to $60.62, platinum slipped 1% to $1,699.86, and palladium fell 0.5% to $1,209.08.
