Muscat:A delegation from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman visited Tanzania to discuss enhancing communication with government entities and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.
According to Oman News Agency, the delegation, led by Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion, emphasized the deep historical ties between Oman and Tanzania. Al Farooji noted the potential for advancing economic relations into broader cooperation, highlighting Tanzania's importance as a strategic partner in East Africa.
Al Farooji pointed out that Oman serves as a strategic gateway for investors to access regional markets, offering a stimulating business environment, advanced infrastructure, and incentives such as the Golden Residency Programme. This program aims to attract investors by providing long-term residency, thereby enhancing stability and connection with Oman's economic opportunities.
The Undersecretary also stressed the importance of enhancing Oman's presence in African markets and building sustainable partnerships with countries with promising economic potential, noting that Tanzania is a key market for Oman's investment diversification strategy.
Saud Hilal Al Shidhani, the Ambassador of Oman to Tanzania, highlighted the historical depth of Omani-Tanzanian relations and the ongoing development of economic ties. He stated that improving communication between government institutions and the private sector would enable joint investments that serve mutual interests.
The visit includes bilateral meetings with Tanzanian officials and business leaders to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities, aiming to introduce Oman's available sectors and explore future partnership possibilities.
