Muscat:The European Union Mission and the embassies of EU Member States in the Sultanate of Oman, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Oman Film Society, and the International Film Foundation of Oman, have announced that Muscat will host the third edition of the European Film Festival 2026 from October 11 to 18. According to Oman News Agency, the festival is recognized as both a cinematic and cultural event. It will feature screenings of selected European films alongside various cinematic activities and programs designed to foster communication and cultural exchange between Oman and Europe. The festival aims to showcase the diversity of European cinema, support Omani talent and filmmakers, and promote cooperation and creativity in the cinematic field. A total of 20 films from Austria, Cyprus, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, and Spain will be screened, highlighting the contemporary creativity of European cinema.
