Florence:Salim bin Said Al Busaidi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, visited Florence as part of efforts to strengthen cultural, tourism, and investment ties between Oman and Italy.
According to Oman News Agency, Al Busaidi met with representatives of Italian institutions and companies specializing in heritage and tourism. Sayyid Nizar bin Al Julanda Al Said, Oman's Ambassador to Italy, accompanied him during these meetings.
While in Florence, the Minister toured the city's National Theatre and historical landmarks with the Honorary Consul of Oman. He was briefed on Italy's experience in restoring the Theatre and its use for cultural and artistic events. The tour also highlighted techniques in conserving the architectural and heritage value of the Theatre, as well as Florence's approach to preserving its historical sites and enhancing their appeal to tourists.
In a meeting organized by the company SACE, Al Busaidi discussed with businesspeople and officials from the heritage and tourism sectors ways to explore cooperation opportunities. The discussions included exchanging expertise in developing and managing heritage sites while maintaining their originality, sustainability, and cultural value.
The Minister also met with Guglielmo Picchi, Chairman of SACE, to discuss potential cooperation in supporting tourism investments and projects. They explored opportunities offered by SACE for financing and credit solutions, aiming to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and attract Italian investments to Oman.
