Muscat:A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of Oman is currently visiting Japan as part of the ongoing technical cooperation between the Ministry and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
According to Oman News Agency, the delegation is being briefed on the latest technologies, practices, and experiences Japan employs in its agriculture sector. The discussions focus on leveraging Japan's expertise to develop Oman's agricultural sector.
Furthermore, the Omani delegation presented investment opportunities available for Japanese investors and companies in Oman’s agriculture sector. A meeting with Asila Nasser Al Kiyumi, Oman's Ambassador to Japan, was held to discuss strategies for transferring Japanese knowledge, technologies, and expertise to Oman.
The delegation also highlighted the promising opportunities within Oman’s agricultural sector, emphasizing factors that could attract Japanese investments. They discussed mechanisms for strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors to support food security and economic diversification efforts.
The visit includes various meetings and field visits to Japanese institutions, projects, and companies specializing in agriculture. These activities aim to learn about modern experiences and technologies, expand cooperation opportunities, and facilitate knowledge transfer. The program also seeks to define investment opportunities in Oman to encourage the establishment of Omani-Japanese partnerships.
