Omani-Bahraini Agreements Aim to Boost Trade and Export Opportunities

Muscat:Omani companies have signed six commercial agreements and memoranda of understanding with companies from Bahrain. These agreements were finalized during the "Made in the GCC 2026" forum and exhibition, highlighting the expanding trade cooperation between Oman and Bahrain and supporting the entry of national products into Gulf markets.

According to Oman News Agency, this initiative is part of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion's efforts, through "Oman Exports," to open new markets for Omani companies and transform international participations into export opportunities and sustainable trade partnerships. The Ministry is focused on promoting national industries and products, facilitating connections between Omani companies and importers, and exchanging expertise in industry, innovation, and logistics.

The forum included participation from several Omani experts in dialogue sessions discussing the future of GCC industry, human resource development, and the development of supply chains. Eng. Ali bin Abdullah Al Aysari contributed to discussions on the qualification and employment of Gulf talent in the industrial sector, while Dr. Ayman bin Abdullah Al Fadli focused on the role of smart factories. Dr. Mahmoud bin Sakhi Al Balushi discussed enhancing connectivity between industrial cities and ports, and Hamad bin Salim Al Harthy explored financing mechanisms for the industrial sector.

Eng. Khalid bin Saleem Al Qassabi remarked that the agreements demonstrate the competitiveness of Omani industrial products in Gulf markets. He emphasized the Ministry's role in strengthening the industrial sector's connection to external markets and promoting sustainable trade partnerships to diversify non-oil exports.

Mahmoud bin Sulaiman Al Yazidi noted that these agreements are a direct result of "Oman Exports'" efforts in connecting Omani companies with international trade partners. He highlighted that the agreements with Bahraini companies represent promising opportunities for Omani products in the Bahraini market and broader Gulf and regional markets. The Ministry continues to support companies in building distribution networks and opening new export channels to enhance the competitiveness of Omani products.
