Oman International Mental Health Conference 2026 Highlights Innovations in Mental Health

Sanaa:The Oman International Mental Health Conference 2026 has commenced, featuring a diverse group of specialists and experts in psychiatry, mental health, and related fields. The event is organized under the patronage of Dr. Said Harib Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.

According to Oman News Agency, the conference is part of Al Masarra Hospital's efforts to enhance the exchange of specialized expertise and knowledge in mental health. It aims to spotlight the latest scientific trends and practices while providing a platform for professional dialogue on the challenges and opportunities in developing mental health services.

Dr. Badr Ali Al Habsi, Director of Al Masarra Hospital, stated that the conference serves as a platform for combining science, experience, and human dialogue, promoting mental health as an integral part of human health and quality of life. He highlighted the conference's theme, "Listening to Real Experiences Real Voices, Real Change," which emphasizes the importance of understanding and respecting the needs of mental health service beneficiaries.

Dr. Al Habsi also noted that the conference aligns with Oman Vision 2040's objectives to build a leading global-standard health system. The hospital aims to be a distinguished psychiatric institution by 2040, focusing on quality, innovation, and the use of technology in developing health services.

The conference program features three main sessions covering a range of topics, including the use of artificial intelligence in mental healthcare and addiction treatment, ADHD across life stages, and treatment-resistant depression. These sessions are complemented by panel discussions and a specialized exhibition on artificial intelligence and innovation in mental health.

Preceding the main conference, three workshops were held on the impact of artificial intelligence on mental health, therapeutic communication skills, and leadership's role in enhancing mental health and workplace environments.

The Oman International Mental Health Conference 2026 highlights the critical need for continuous knowledge development and professional practice in mental health, fostering scientific and professional partnerships to improve the quality of services in Oman.
