A'dhahirah: Thirty-five percent of a project for the maintenance of the Falaj system in A'Dhahirah Governorate has been completed. The project is part of efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources to ensure the sustainability of water resources and enhance their efficiency in serving the agriculture sector. According to Oman News Agency, the project involves the maintenance and restoration of 15 falaj systems across different wilayats in the governorate. Key tasks include the removal of debris from the aflaj courses, reconstruction of sidewalls, and the implementation of technical and engineering tasks that contribute to restoring the irrigation channels. These efforts are designed to enhance the flow of water to crops and ensure a sustainable outcome for the farming sector.
