Kabul: The death toll from devastating floods, landslides, and lightning strikes triggered by heavy rains and storms across Afghanistan has climbed to 77, with 137 others injured over the past ten days, authorities reported. According to Oman News Agency, Afghanistan's disaster management agency announced that forecasts predict continued rainfall in several regions in the coming days, urging residents to steer clear of riverbanks and areas prone to flooding. The country is enduring severe weather volatility, as seasonal downpours frequently give way to catastrophic floods and landslides, exacerbating the fragility of already weakened infrastructure and posing an acute threat to both human life and agricultural land.
