Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the Oman Agricultural Association convened their second periodic meeting today to discuss collaboration efforts and address challenges faced by farmers.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting underscored the Association's crucial role in communicating farmers' needs and proposals, aiming to establish direct communication between farmers and relevant authorities. Chaired by Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the meeting focused on creating a supportive environment for farmers to identify and overcome production and marketing difficulties.
Additionally, the meeting explored strategies for marketing local agricultural products to promote sustainable agricultural practices and enhance economic returns for farmers. Discussions also included the potential for using alternative energy to improve farm operations and the role of companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in offering services to farmers.
