Al Buraimi Governorate Unveils 153 Investment Opportunities in Food Security by 2026

Muscat: Al Buraimi Governorate has offered 153 investment opportunities in the food security sector through the Tatweer platform by the first half of 2026, covering a total area of 4,900.58 acres.

According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Ahmed bin Saif Al Amri, Director General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Buraimi, stated that these opportunities were developed in coordination with the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning. This initiative aims to enhance the contribution of the agricultural and livestock sectors to the GDP, aligning with Oman Vision 2040.

Dr. Al Amri highlighted that the investment opportunities include projects on date palm, potato, garlic, and seedling production. Additionally, there are plans for a tissue culture laboratory, agricultural sorting and packaging centres, livestock fattening projects for camels, cattle, and sheep, fodder production, and specialised veterinary clinics.

He further revealed that by mid-2026, existing investment projects in the governorate's agricultural and water resources sector would reach 69, covering more than 5,832 acres with an investment value of RO 38 million.

In the plant sector, 42 projects span 2,655.3 acres with a valuation of RO 9.13 million. This includes 11 local wheat cultivation projects on 1,246.9 acres, valued at RO 2.88 million.

In conclusion, Dr. Al Amri noted that the livestock sector comprises 15 projects covering approximately 1,775.6 acres, with a total value of RO 25.86 million. These projects encompass red and white meat, eggs, fodder, feed supplements, and veterinary medicines.
