Muscat: Al Rusayl Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates 'Madayn', has signed 17 contracts in 2024 to establish projects spanning an area of over 235,000 sqm. These projects have attracted investments exceeding RO 49 million, encompassing the industrial, logistics, and service sectors. According to Oman News Agency, since its inception in 1983, Al Rusayl Industrial City has played an essential role in fostering a conducive business environment and supporting governmental efforts towards economic diversification in alignment with Oman Vision 2040. Eng. Fahad bin Nasser Al Abrawi, Acting CEO of Al Rusayl Industrial City company, stated that cumulative investments in the city had surpassed RO 767 million by the end of 2024, generating projects that covered nearly 11 million sqm. The industrial city accommodates various activities, including chemical products, electrical materials, building materials, fibre optic cables, food products, textiles, stationery, paints, filt ers, and furniture. Madayn is currently implementing several strategic projects at Al Rusayl Industrial City, with infrastructure advancements such as the Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex in collaboration with the SMEs Development Authority. Al Abrawi elaborated that the complex spans over 60,000 sqm of industrial workshops designed to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs). A consultancy project is underway aimed at enhancing infrastructure, particularly focusing on addressing rainwater accumulation in surrounding areas by constructing new alternative roads to access some leased lands. Future projects approved include the redevelopment of the commercial area to expand retail capacity, an integrated project to bolster food security in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and a sustainable wastewater recycling initiative to support industrial cooling and manufacturing operations within Al Rusayl Industrial City. In 2024, Madayn completed the modernization of the ind ustrial city's main entrance, introducing a state-of-the-art design reflecting the facility's commitment to becoming a modern industrial hub. In addition, the Masar Service Centre in Al Rusayl Industrial City is pivotal in streamlining investment procedures by providing a unified platform for obtaining necessary permits and licenses. The centre offers comprehensive support services, including consulting, financing, banking, medical checks, postal services, and marketing and promotion, thus fostering an investor-friendly business environment in the Sultanate of Oman.
