Uttarakhand: At least 36 people have died and several have been injured following a tragic bus accident in the northern state of Uttarakhand, India. The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plummet into a 50-meter-deep ditch in the region of Marchula in Almora district. According to Oman News Agency, local officials confirmed that 44 passengers were on board the bus at the time of the accident. An inquiry into the incident has been ordered by the state government to investigate the cause of the crash. Buses serve as the primary mode of transportation in the Himalayan state, where road accidents are not uncommon. The accident resulted in multiple fatalities at the scene, and those injured have been transported to nearby hospitals for medical care. Rescue operations are currently ongoing as efforts continue to recover bodies and assist the injured.
