Muscat:A training meeting on the Supreme Audit Institutions Performance Measurement Framework (SAI PMF) was hosted by the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, aimed at enhancing joint audit work and exchanging professional expertise among audit institutions from various Arab countries. The event took place under the auspices of Zahir Sulaiman Al Salmi, Deputy Chairman of the Authority for Audit on Government Units.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was designed to acquaint participants with the strategic significance of the Performance Measurement Framework, highlighting its critical role in bolstering the efficiency and effectiveness of audit institutions. It also sought to solidify understanding of the framework's domains and explore best practices and tools for its effective implementation.
The training included a series of working sessions that covered several topics such as independence and the legal framework, internal governance and ethics, and quality control and reporting. Additionally, the meeting focused on performance measurement domains including financial management, assets, support services, human resources affairs, training, communications, stakeholder management, and the assessment of measurement results.
Participants also had the opportunity to review experiences and methodologies related to Supreme Audit Institutions' performance measurement, further contributing to the overall goal of improving audit practices across the region.
