Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, met with Steven C. Bondy, Ambassador of the US to Bahrain. The Speaker emphasised Bahrain's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to achieving comprehensive and just peace as a strategic choice for ensuring the region's security and stability. He highlighted the importance of resolving regional and international conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy, fostering peaceful coexistence among different cultures and civilisations. Al Musallam also praised the longstanding friendship and strong partnership between Bahrain and the United States, particularly within the framework of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement. He underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral cooperation to serve common interests and aspirations. On his part, the ambassador expressed appreciation for Bahrain's efforts as a key strategic ally outside NATO and an international partner in maintaining global peace and security. He reaffirmed the US's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and commended the progress made under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement, one year since its signing, and two decades since the free trade agreement.
