Free Patriotic Movement leader, Gebran Bassil, on Tuesday welcomed UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, in a meeting attended by MP Nada Boustani and the Movement's Diplomatic Relations Coordinator Bashir Haddad. According to a statement from the Movement, discussions focused on the current situation and on potential means to end the ongoing war. Bassil urged the United Nations to leverage its influence to halt the conflict. In this context, both parties agreed on the urgent need to elect a president for the republic to keep pace with developments, negotiations, and support programs for Lebanon.
