Berri broaches developments with ”National Accord” Bloc delegation, meets US Ambassador, Caretaker Information Minister, Italian Chief of Defense Staff

House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday received at the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh, a delegation from the ''National Accord'' Bloc, which included MPs Hassan Murad, Adnan Traboulsi and Mohammad Yahya. Discussions reportedly touched on the latest political and field developments and the displaced persons file. Speaker Berri also received in Ain El-Tineh, the US Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa A. Johnson, with whom he discussed current political and field developments in Lebanon and the region, in light of Israel's continued aggression against Lebanon. Berri later received in Ain El-Tineh, Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, who briefed him on the atmosphere and outcome of the recent Francophone Summit held in Paris. Discussions also touched on matters related to the general situation and the affairs of the displaced. Berri also received the Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Baath Party in Lebanon, Ali Hijazi, who offered condolences to the Speaker over the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan N asrallah, and all other martyrs. This afternoon, Berri received the Chief of the Defense Staff of Italy, General Luciano Portolano, in the presence of Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marcelli, and the accompanying military delegation.
