In an official statement, House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Friday extended his 'heartfelt thanks and appreciation to French President, Emmanuel Macron, and the people and government of France' for organizing the international conference dedicated to supporting Lebanon's sovereignty and financial, political, and humanitarian needs. 'Thank you to Lebanon's friend, President Emmanuel Macron, to the French government and people, and also to the European Union, the Lebanese government, and all participating countries-including our Arab and international friends-for being part of the conference held to support Lebanon, its people, and its army in facing the impacts of Israel's aggressive war, which threatens Lebanon's people, heritage, culture, and role in the region and world,' Berri stated. The House Speaker praised the conference's outcomes, particularly the financial support for displaced persons and the bolstering of the Lebanese army to safeguard national sovereignty, particularly south of the Litani River i n coordination with UNIFIL, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1701. 'This reinforces our belief that Lebanon is not alone in facing this existential threat,' Berri added. 'We now look forward with equal hope and urgency that the international community will act upon the conference's recommendations, taking a serious humanitarian stance to save Lebanon and its people from aggression,' Berri concluded.
