Manama, Isa Al Shaiji, the Chairman of the Bahraini Journalists Association (BJA), emphasised the importance of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism in supporting the important role of the national press within the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Shaiji said that the ongoing support from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the Prime Minister's Press Award reflects His Royal Highness's confidence in the national press. This patronage by HRH underscores the press's vital role in the Kingdom's development and democratic processes, he added. Al Shaiji emphasised that this patronage of the award reflects His Royal Highness's keenness to share the hopes and aspirations of journalists and empowering them to fulfill their mission effectively and professionally. On the occasion of the success of eighth edition of th e Prime Minister's Award for Journalism, Al Shaiji praised its significant advancement, which reflects the active role of the national press. He noted that the addition of new categories to the award accommodates development in this sector. Al Shaiji thanked Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, the Minister of Information, and all those behind the success of the eighth edition of the Prime Minister's Press Award. He congratulated all the winning colleagues, who represent the high level of professionalism achieved by the national press, commending their distinguished efforts in supporting national action.
