Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Abdallah Bou Habib, on Friday received US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard Verma, at the Lebanese Embassy headquarters in Paris. Discussions reportedly touched on the next steps regarding the US aid pledged to Lebanon during the Paris 2024 conference, and what the United States of America can provide to Lebanon to meet its urgent and essential needs. They also discussed ways to reach a final and sustainable solution to the crisis in Lebanon, and the conditions necessary for the full implementation of Resolution 1701 and the deployment of the Lebanese army in the south. Discussions also reportedly touched on the impact of displacement on the country's socio-economic conditions, as well as the necessity of ending the presidential vacuum.
