Manama: Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, expressed his appreciation for the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to establish a comprehensive plan to redevelop the historical area of the Manama Souq. The plan aims to preserve the area's historical and cultural identity in line with the infrastructure requirements needed, in implementation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's order to preserve the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain's buildings and cities. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman underscored that the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, reflect the government's commitment to preserving the historical and cultural identity of the Manama Souq and its status as a commercial and tourist attraction. This plan will also help promote the area's commercial activity and contribute to the development of the national economy. He highlighted the development of the capital governorate across various sectors. This includes the key urban projects implemented by the government, headed by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, under the leadership of HM King Hamad. Source: Bahrain News Agency
