Muscat: The aviation industry is recognized as a principal contributor to the economic and social development in the Sultanate of Oman, enhancing travel, tourism, and trade, while improving connectivity with international destinations. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has endorsed a comprehensive policy aimed at bolstering safety and security, adopting optimal environmental practices, and keeping pace with the rapid global advancements in the sector. According to Oman News Agency, the CAA is actively pursuing steps to develop the sector's infrastructure, attract investments, and improve service efficiency. The vision of the CAA in Oman is focused on expanding the civil aviation sector and supporting sustainable growth. This vision aligns with a broader strategy to establish a comprehensive framework that defines the government's approach and lays out a roadmap for creating a National Aviation Strategy in accordance with Oman Vision 2040 and related national strategies. The aviation sector policy addresses seven main areas: aviation safety and security, air transport, infrastructure development, economic regulation, passenger rights protection, the protection of Omani airspace, and environmental conservation. These areas collectively aim to support the sector's growth and integration with the national and international aviation landscape.
