Muscat: The Schools Football League for boys, organized by the Oman School Sports Association, continues at the Police Stadium. The tournament, which runs from 29 March to 2 April 2026, features the participation of 168 students born in 2013 and later, representing various educational directorates and private schools. According to Oman News Agency, through this league, the Federation aims to establish sports as a daily practice among youth, encourage student gatherings and athletic competitions, and directly link schools with the local community by meeting the physical and sporting needs and interests of students. The league focuses on team-oriented activities that reinforce educational values and positive behavior, contributing to national identity and fostering a spirit of citizenship. Furthermore, it seeks to develop student personality, innovation, and creativity while equipping them with experience and skills. The initiative also promotes awareness of leisure time management and investment in various activities for the benefit of students and society, while creating genuine partnerships with relevant institutions to discover and nurture talented individuals in various sporting fields. The group stage matches conclude this evening with four games in the third round. Highlighting the schedule is the encounter between Sheikh Abu Qahtan Al Hajari School from South Al Batinah and Al Qa'qa' bin Amr Al Tamimi School from South A'Sharqiyah to determine the leader of Group A, after both teams secured their qualification for the quarterfinals. Excitement is also expected in the match between Ali bin Abi Talib School from North Al Batinah and Al Fadl bin Al Hawari School from A'Dakhiliyah to decide the winner of Group B. Additionally, Al Baleed School, representing Dhofar, will face Abu Ayoub Al Hadrami School from Muscat, while Al Khayrat School from North A'Sharqiyah seeks a draw to officially secure its qualification for the second round. The quarterfinal matches are scheduled for tomorrow to determine the sch ools advancing to the semi-finals, which will take place on Thursday morning. The tournament will conclude at 5:30 PM on the same day under the auspices of Dr. Intisar Abdullah Ambousaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Support Programs.
