Qurayyat: Qurayyat Development Company celebrated the signing of an agreement to commence construction works for the real estate component of Phase One of the integrated tourism project "Hay Al Sahel" in the Wilayat of Qurayyat. The agreement was signed with Bahjat Al Waha LLC, a subsidiary of Al Hashar Group.
According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Abdullah Al Shuaili emphasized that the launch of construction works for the real estate component marks a pivotal milestone in the project's development. He highlighted the importance of "Hay Al Sahel" in supporting the tourism sector in the Wilayat of Qurayyat and surrounding areas, aligning with Oman's National Tourism Strategy and Vision 2040 for economic diversification.
He added that once completed, the project will offer numerous economic and social opportunities, particularly for the local community, through its integrated tourism and recreational facilities.
For his part, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Awadh Barham expressed Al Madina Real Estate Company's pride in developing the project, noting that the design merges modern elements with the distinctive architectural identity of Oman. He explained that the first phase of the real estate component includes infrastructure works, construction of 400 residential units, a mixed-use residential and commercial boulevard, a water park, and a range of entertainment and retail facilities covering more than 38,700 square meters.
The infrastructure will include primary access roads, a wastewater treatment plant with a daily capacity of 4,000 cubic meters, and electrical substations with a total capacity of 4,300 kVA.
Jose Michael Rubin expressed his pride in Bahjat Al Waha being awarded the execution of the first phase of this vital real estate development, stating: 'We are honoured to contribute to this significant national project. We are committed to delivering it with the highest quality and on schedule, making it a model for success and sustainable growth in Oman's tourism sector.'
Qurayyat Development Company was established as a joint venture (JV) between Al Madina Real Estate and Space Gulf. The company will oversee the full development of the project under a usufruct arrangement, transforming it into a fully integrated tourism complex spanning approximately 1.3 million square meters.
