Ramallah - Ma'an - The Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and Ex-Prisoners revealed this morning, Thursday, the continuation of the policy of medical negligence and medical crimes against male and female prisoners inside Israeli prisons and detention centers, stressing that there are hundreds and thousands of them suffering from chronic diseases and serious injuries as a result of being shot at when they were arrested, which threatens their survival in a real way. The Commission revealed, according to a visit by its legal team to a number of prisoners in Ofer prison, that there is complete disregard for the condition of the two sick prisoners, Baha Daraj (33 years old) from the town of Kharbatha al-Misbah, west of the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, and Muhammad Shamasneh (26 years old) from the town of Qatana, northwest of Jerusalem, who are deprived of receiving medication and treatment, and are left prey to constant pain and suffering. The Commission explained that prisoner Daraj suffered a broken pelvi s before his arrest, and was undergoing a treatment program at the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah. He has a plate in his right leg, and he also broke his toe as a result of beating and torture, and he has not been treated yet, noting that he requested this through the Commission's lawyer in the court session, and the result was that the clinic doctor gave him an Acamol pill. As for prisoner Shamasneh, he suffered a broken nose, chest ribs, and shoulder due to the assault on him by soldiers and prison guards. He also suffers from a gunshot wound before his arrest, and he is not being provided with any health care or treatment. The legal team of the Commission was able to visit a number of prisoners in addition to prisoners Daraj and Shamasneh, namely: (Mohammed Khatib, Saif Abu Naim, Yahya Ramana, Miras Basatin, Saleh Suleiman, Yaqoub Hussein), where they agreed that the conditions are still difficult and complicated, and the food has worsened recently in terms of quantity and quality, and the general conditions are painful and hurtful.
