Muscat: The Governorate of Dhofar and Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) today signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) to develop the Governorate of Dhofar's Innovation Scheme. According to Oman News Agency, the signing of the MoC took place on the sidelines of a meeting of Dhofar Governorate's Innovation Steering Committee, which convened at Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. The MoC was signed by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and Eng. Aladdin Abdullah Hassan Baitfadhil, CEO of Omantel. During its meeting, chaired by HH Sayyid Marwan, the committee reviewed the plan to implement the innovation empowerment scheme in the governorate and discussed proposals to upgrade the scheme. HH Sayyid Marwan and the committee's members were also briefed about key outcomes and recommendations of a recent workshop that dealt with the scheme's executive plan. In this context, HH Sayyid Marwan underscored the need to maintain efforts to develop the Innovati on Scheme and enhance integration and partnership among stakeholders in accordance with the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and the governorate's sustainable development tracks.
