Gaza: Director of Al-Shifa Hospital, Mohammed Abu Salmiya, said that Israeli doctors and nurses beat and torture Palestinian prisoners and treat the bodies of detainees as if they were inanimate objects. Abu Salmiya said today, Monday, during a press conference after his release from the occupation prisons, "Many prisoners were martyred in the investigation cells, and we left behind thousands of detainees held by the occupation." He pointed out that every prisoner held by the occupation lost about 30 kilograms of his weight due to food deprivation and torture. He added, "The occupation did not charge me with any crime, despite my being tried three times. This means that it arrested me for political reasons." He said, "We were subjected to severe torture, and the occupation forces stormed the prisoners' cells and assaulted them almost daily." "We did not meet with lawyers and no international institution visited us," he said. He pointed out that he was surprised by the talk of parties in the Israeli gove rnment about their lack of knowledge of his release from prison and his release in an official manner Source: Maan News Agency
