Ebola Cases in DR Congo Rise to 598 as Outbreak Persists

Manama: The Democratic Republic of the Congo The Democratic Republic of the Congo has recorded a fresh rise in confirmed Ebola cases, with the number reaching 598, including 115 deaths and 19 recoveries, as health efforts continue to contain the spread of the virus, authorities said. According to Oman News Agency, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that Ituri province remains the epicentre of the outbreak. The organization is expanding screening and contact tracing operations to enable early detection of new cases and limit further transmission. In neighboring Uganda, health authorities have reported 19 confirmed cases and two deaths. There are no indications so far of community transmission, as epidemiological surveillance and precautionary measures continue.
