Education Minister meets with official overseeing UNESCO-King Hamad ICT in Education Prize

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, met with Fengchun Miao, the official overseeing the UNESCO-King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for ICT in Education, at UNESCO's headquarters in Paris. The meeting discussed the final preparations for the award ceremony, with the participation of leading experts, researchers, senior UNESCO officials, diplomats, and other key figures. The two sides also discussed strengthening cooperation between Bahrain and UNESCO in various educational fields. The UNESCO-King Hamad Prize recognises innovative uses of ICT in education that contribute to UNESCO's mission of promoting inclusive and quality education for all. This year, the prize attracted 71 entries from 36 countries, with the 2023 winners being educational projects from Belgium and South Korea. The winning initiatives were the "Data-Driven Carbon Literacy" project by the Korean School Teachers' Association and the "EducoNetImpact" project by researchers at the University of Mons in Belgium.
