Lebanese Forces party leader, Samir Geagea, welcomed at his Maarab residence on Wednesday, Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, with whom he discussed the latest political developments in Lebanon and the broader region. Speaking to reporters following the 90-minute meeting, Moussa said that talks touched on the local and regional situations, in addition to Gaza file and the ceasefire negotiations. "We also tackled the security threats facing Lebanon in light of the events in Gaza, and we stressed the necessity to remove these threats in the nearest time possible," he indicated, adding that talks also touched on the presidential file, with discussions focusing on an array of ideas that might help resolve the issue. "We hope to achieve the sought breakthrough regarding the presidential file, because Lebanon can no longer afford remaining without a president," he underlined. "We must not look for the divisive points, but search a common ground instead, from which we can move forward," he said, stressi ng the necessity of "interaction" between Lebanon's main forces to elect a president. In response to a question about the Quint's resumed action, he said: "The Quint did not stop working to begin with, but during the past period, focus was on the pacification of the situation in the region and on preventing the outbreak of a wider conflict." He continued: "Now that the tension has been somehow defused, we are refocusing on the presidential file." Source: National news agency - Lebanon
