The Environment Authority today organized a workshop in Muscat about the 'Framework for registering carbon emissions mitigation projects and the issuance of carbon reduction certificates". The workshop reviewed the final draft on the general policy of the aforementioned framework, in accordance with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The workshop defined the framework of governance, principles and responsibilities for approving, licensing, enumerating and verifying carbon reduction quantities. The data will be circulated locally and globally. The framework sets out criteria for selecting priority projects that would be endorsed for the issuance of carbon reduction certificates. The framework has been revised by more than 200 specialized international institutions and organizations.
