Brussels: The European Union (EU) leaders will meet for an extraordinary summit on 6 March 2025 to discuss additional support for Ukraine and European security concerns. "We are living a defining moment for Ukraine and European security," President of the European Council Antonio Costa said on X.
According to Oman News Agency, Costa emphasized the shared commitment among European leaders to address these challenges at the EU level. He highlighted the importance of strengthening European defense and contributing decisively to peace on the continent and ensuring the long-term security of Ukraine.
Costa also mentioned his ongoing collaboration with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and all EU Member States to prepare for decision-making at the upcoming summit. The decision to hold the European summit comes amid growing concern over the US stance on the Russia-Ukraine war and its decision to begin negotiations with Russia to end the conflict without involving the European side.
