Muscat: The National Committee for Family Affairs today held its 2nd meeting for 2024 under the chair of Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, Chairperson of the Committee. The meeting discussed a spectrum of topics, namely the formation of a national team of specialists in the field of juvenile interview and interrogation, among other topics. According to Oman News Agency, the committee focused on strengthening the framework for handling juvenile cases by proposing the establishment of a specialized national team. This initiative aims to ensure that interviews and interrogations of juveniles are conducted by professionals with expertise in this sensitive area. The discussions also included measures to enhance family support systems and address challenges faced by families in the region. The committee emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts across various sectors to support family welfare and development.
