Caretaker Minister of Energy and Water, Dr. Walid Fayad, on Thursday visited Baalbek-Hermel with a technical delegation, including General Director Ghada Boulous, and other ministry officials. Fayad and his accompanying delegation met with Governor Bashir Khodr and local leaders. Discussions focused on Baalbek-Hermel's sewage, water, and electricity issues. The meeting highlighted the sewage problems in Arsal, Yammouneh, and Taminin, urging solutions to protect public health and the environment. It also addressed water source encroachments and stressed the need for effective water management by the Bekaa Water Establishment. Fayad emphasized supporting remote areas and reaffirmed their commitment to Baalbek-Hermel, promising to address electricity shortages and improve supply equity. The Energy Minister further stressed the need for legislative support, including approving the Iraqi fuel contract to enhance electricity supply. Source: National news agency - Lebanon
