Fifth Khareef Dhofar Taekwondo Championship to Kick Off on 31 July

Muscat: Competitions of the 5th Khareef Dhofar Taekwondo Championship will kick off next Friday, 31 July 2026. The championship is organized by the Elite Martial Arts Academy, in cooperation with Oman Taekwondo Committee, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. According to Oman News Agency, the championship features the participation of more than 160 male and female taekwondo players, representing various clubs and centers nurturing the sport from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman. The tournament also constitutes an important opportunity for the technical staff of national teams to select outstanding male and female players to represent the Sultanate of Oman in various upcoming external participations and competitions. The championship includes Kyorugi competitions across most categories. Technical committees will hold a meeting with the heads of participating academies and clubs next Thursday morning, while the weigh-in ceremony for tournament participants will take pla ce in the evening at the Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah. Competitions will begin on Friday and conclude with the final rounds on Saturday, which will also witness the crowning and honoring of the winners.
