Muscat: The first International Conference on Creative Industries and Sustainable Innovation, titled "Creative Horizons," commenced today in the A'Dakhiliyah Governorate. The event is hosted by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Nizwa at the Oman Across Ages Museum, featuring participation from a select group of academics and researchers both from within and outside Oman.
According to Oman News Agency, the conference is held under the patronage of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy. It addresses four primary themes: developing innovative and sustainable policies and strategies for creative industries, the role of technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing efficiency and sustainability practices, creativity in service of the circular economy and sustainable growth, and creative practices in design, media, architecture, and urban planning.
The opening day included a session titled "Innovation for Sustainability: A Global and Local Vision," where speakers explored modern trends in supporting creative industries and their impact on the sustainable economy. This session was followed by scientific discussions focusing on research papers covering topics such as the role of artificial intelligence in design and media production, digital technologies in cultural heritage preservation, innovation in technical and creative education, and the transition towards a circular economy through the arts.
The First International Conference on Creative Industries and Sustainable Innovation aims to serve as a platform that combines academic rigor with creative exploration in cultural and creative industries, entrepreneurship, and the application of artificial intelligence in arts and media.
