Salalah: The number of arriving flights at Salalah Airport during the period from 21 June to 31 July 2026 rose to 1,758, compared to 1,637 flights during the same period last year, marking an increase of 7 percent.
According to Oman News Agency, data from Oman Airports showed that the number of arriving passengers through the airport during the same period reached 154,529 passengers, compared to 142,488 passengers during the same period in 2025, registering an increase of 12,041 passengers and a growth rate of approximately 8 percent.
This growth in flight and passenger movements coincides with the Dhofar Khareef (monsoon) season of 2026. The season attracts large numbers of visitors from within the Sultanate of Oman and abroad, who enjoy the autumnal weather that distinguishes Dhofar Governorate during this period.
Salalah Airport is considered one of the vital facilities supporting tourism activity in Dhofar Governorate, which experiences a surge in visitor numbers and travel movement during the khareef season.
