Salfit - Ma'an - The Israeli occupation authorities issued a decision on Monday to seize 19 dunams and 77 meters of land from Haris, Qarawat Bani Hassan and Deir Istiya, west of Salfit, for military purposes. The head of the Haris village council, Sheikh Omar Samara, reported that the occupation authorities had delivered a military order to seize citizens' lands in the areas of 'Al-Bureiji, Al-Malik Bardoun, Al-Shaftan, Al-Tahrat, and Al-Burei, west of the village, under security pretexts and for military purposes.' In turn, the mayor of Deir Istiya said that the area that the occupation intends to confiscate and seize is mostly planted with olive trees, and is located between the settlements of Kiryat Netufim and Rafa, which are built on citizens' lands. He pointed out that the area of ??the citizens of the town of Deir Istiya that was notified is estimated at three dunams, noting that the period for objecting to the decisions is 7 days from the date of delivery of the notification, and this is not suffici ent.
